REDEDICATION CEREMONY FOR C. JAY SMITH PARK
Please join us for the Rededication for the City of Newnan’s C.J. Smith Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mayor Keith Brady, members of City Council, State Senator Mitch Seabaugh, State Representative Lynn Smith and State Representative Billy Horne on May 6Th at 11:00 AM.
The city’s Building Department has completed work on CJ Smith Park. The work includes new dugouts, new roofs for the dugouts, a ticket booth and painting of the new roofs. The new playground equipment and refurbishing of the park equipment was bought with the allocated 2007 state grant. The grant was presented to the city by State Senator Seabaugh and State Representatives Smith and Horne.
“The Rededication of C.J. Smith Park is a plus for both the citizens and the City of Newnan, said Councilman George Alexander. It allows the citizens to continue to use and enjoy this outstanding facility for the city. It demonstrates to the citizens our continued support and commitment in creating the highest quality of life possible within the city, continues Councilman Alexander. I am extremely proud of our city and the hard work our employees consistently demonstrate on a daily basis. As a councilman, I will always strive for the highest quality of life standards for our citizens and employees.”
C.J. Smith Park was bought and named by the city in 1962 from the Cotton Mill. The park is located off Farmer Street. ###
