Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax is a 1 cent sales tax intended solely for voter approved capital projects and only a County Government can call for a S.P.L.O.S.T. referendum. In 1992 the first S.P.L.O.S.T. was approved in Newnan & Coweta County. Our citizens re-authorized S.P.L.O.S.T. issues in 1997, 2002, & 2007, and studies have shown that up to 40% of all S.P.L.O.S.T. revenues come from non-county residents!  Water Resource Ordinance
The establishment of Water Resource
Districts define minimum development standards and criteria, which well afford
reasonable protection of environmentally sensitive natural resources found
throughout the City. Based on the findings of the City Comprehensive Plan, it
has been determined the wise management of these resources is essential to
maintaining the health, safety, general welfare and economic well being of the
public.
