General Information related to
City of Newnan Property Taxes
- Tax bills are due approximately 30 days after billing.
- No overpayments/refunds will be processed until January 1st of following year. Refunds are mailed to owner on record as of January 1st.
- Penalties for late payments are calculated on the 1st of each month and payments have to be in our possession by the last day of the month to prevent additional penalties (1% per month).
- Property tax assessments are completed by Coweta County and the information is remitted to the City for billing and collection purposes. Any assessment discrepancies must be addressed directly with the County. Only properties in district 2 and 8 are City.
- All properties, business and residential, located in the City of Newnan will receive tax bills from both the City and County, each to be paid individually.
- If you have an escrow account, the taxes will be paid by your mortgage company. You can forward your tax bill to the mortgage company.
